Runescape Fremennik Achievement Diary

Fremennik Achievement Diary

This minigame is very dynamic, involving different levels of tasks. Because of this, the Runescape mini-game risk ratings are given in the Runescape task summaries (found at the Runescape beginning of the Runescape Easy, Medium and Hard task listings).
Introduction

Your Achievement Diary will be available to you at all times. To access it, simply look at your Control Panel and choose the Runescape Quest Asterisk symbol. pic
In the Runescape top-right corner of the Runescape quest list, there is a small green star. Click on it to find your Achievement Diary. While on the Runescape Achievement Diary list, click the Runescape blue star to go back to your quest list. There is a picture of the Runescape icon below.

Starting

The Fremennik Achievement Diary contains tasks that can be completed by low, medium, and high level players.

What to wear is for you to decide, using your best judgement. Only selected tasks directly involve combat, so armour will not be necessary except for very low levels, who may want defence against ordinary monsters that exist around the Runescape towns. If you were going to fight a monster you would want armour and weapons. However, if you do not plan to do anything involving fighting and will be in a safe area, then lightweight clothing is suggested. (For more information on monster fighting, view the Runescape guides in our Monster Hunting guides.)

Before you can begin fulfilling your Achievement Diary, you need to talk to one of three NPCs. the Runescape following list shows the Runescape three NPCs and their locations:

* Council Workman: South of Rellekka, next to the Runescape bridge
* Yrsa: Rellekka, Clothes Shop
* Advisor Ghrim: Miscellania, in the Runescape throne room

Once you've spoken to one of them, your Diary won't look any different. However, the Runescape first time you complete a task in the Runescape diary, the Runescape entry will turn yellow (showing that you've started the Runescape Diary, similar to the Runescape quest list.) If you click on the Runescape Diary, it pulls up a parchment list in your main game window. You can scroll through it to see the Runescape complete list of tasks.

Every time you finish a Diary task, you will get a message in your chat window stating that you've completed a task and it's been recorded in your Achievement Diary. Open the Runescape Diary and you'll see a red line has been marked through that task.

Once you've started the Runescape Diary, you can perform the Runescape tasks in any order and at any level (Easy, Medium or Hard) that you wish. A map showing the Runescape location for each task is forthcoming and will be available soon.

Runescape

Runescape is a game about MMORPG and 3D characters and things that fly around and pets and skills. There are skills you can train and then rate them against a highscore list and put them up on zybez and that way you can join a community and make a friends and then talk with them on general discussion, questions, RSC, clans, and the off topic section, and then cover it all up with a blanket and quests. There are many quests and some of them involve dragons and crandor isle and varrock and falador and ardougne there are many cities and people and NPCs.

We think that Runescape is a game about skill but it is actually a game about time and MMORPGs. fantasy and SCi-Fi but that is mechscape do you know what i amean? No? It's okay let me tell you a story about a Runescape player called NPC and his newb friends. They moved to varrock and then started up on a quest to go and solve a quest. They went to varrock and found aht eshield of arrav from the king and black arm gang and they found crossbows.

Crossbows are found upstairs and they can be traded to the prank and bolts shop for coins and archery supplies. We don't need to speculate on training skills because all that matters is a bunch of money that you can gain by selling the stupid crossbows to the archery supplies shop.

Some skills are easy to train like mining all you have to do is click and keep clicking on the rock and wait for stuff to appear in the inventory. Sometimes you got to be careful about things loike rock demons because they are higher leveled than you and will take you many strikes.

Other skills like smithing are quite easy asl well. We just walk over to the furnace and we smelt our ores into the fire. Then we get metal bars from which you can make weapons to wield There are requirements for smithing level and combat level to make and acquire weapons. You can't wield a weapon if your skills is not high enough and you can't smith a bar into weapons if your smithing level is too low but you can sell the weapon if you dont or can't wield the weapon.

Combat level matters because there are slills that dictate the combat level which can range to like 135. Defense and Strength can be 99 and this is just a page for you know what.

World of Warcraft - Fans go crazy about Wrath of the Lich King

http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/technolo...000/7726168.stm

Fans go mad for new Warcraft game

By Jim Reed
Newsbeat technology reporter

World of Warcraft makes more money than the biggest Hollywood blockbusters every single month, has 11 million players and controls two thirds of the online gaming market, so when an expanded version was released, fans turn up in droves to be the first to get their hands on it.

World of Warcraft is more than just a game - it's a whole industry, selling everything from action figures to t-shirts, playing cards and even tickets to its own gaming festival.

Thousands of fans dressed in costume and queued overnight in central London to be the first to get their hands on the latest chapter in the saga, an update called Wrath of the Lich King.

"It's just a big social gaming experience," according to Paul Sams at Blizzard, the American company behind World of Warcraft.

"When we first started this back in the early 2000s, we thought it was going to be quite a niche type of game. We hoped to hit a million subscribers one day," he told Newsbeat.

"It's been far beyond anything we could have imagined. We all want to be heroes, but we can't in our everyday life.

"There were games before World of Warcraft but they were much more hardcore and that was quite intimidating for many people.

"We've worked really hard to try to make a really casual ramping of difficulty. So no matter what kind of thing you are in to, you are able to jump in and experience all of it."
World of Warcraft fans
World of Warcraft fans get into character for the midnight release

The features built into the new expansion pack might not sound like much to non-fans.

Players can access a new frozen continent called Northrend, level strength has been raised from the current max of 70 up to 80, new vehicles and siege engines appear for the first time, an achievement ranking makes it easier to track your progress and gamers can play as a new character called a Death Knight.

But for hardcore World of Warcraft players, these small changes are a huge deal.

"I'm really looking forward to exploring the Northrend area. It's the same graphics engine but they've done a good job of making it look different," 26-year-old gamer Lesley Harrison told Newsbeat.

Lesley has been playing online games together with her husband Mark since they were married six years ago.

"World of Warcraft is very polished and very accessible," she said.

"There were other games out before but they were so unforgiving and quirky. The interfaces were very hard to learn and there was a lot to get past before you could enjoy the game.

"With World of Warcraft you can sit down and on your first day you can get to some exciting content. That's pretty unique."
Lesley and Mark
Lesley and Mark share a love of Warcraft and play together

Lesley and Mark have their computers set up side-by-side in the front room.

Mark told Newsbeat: "It would be really difficult if Lesley didn't play. It takes hours to do some things in World of Warcraft, so it's easy for the other person to get bored if they're not involved."

Lesley added: "We share different duties so if one of us is in the middle of something, the other one will go and make the tea. I don't think that would be appreciated if we didn't play together."

But with the average WoWer spending around 25 hours a week on the game, other couples are not so lucky.

More than 3,000 people have joined an online support group called Warcraft Widows for relatives of addicted gamers.

"My wife started playing in 2007," according to one post. "She plays 12-18 hours a day and ignores all other life.

"She refuses to answer the phone. She refuses to return emails. I am destroyed by a video game and have no idea how to proceed."

That kind of dedication has helped make World of Warcraft one of the biggest money-spinners in gaming history.
World of Warcraft poster
It costs £9 a month subscription to keep playing the game online

Customers must buy the £24.99 disc to begin with and then pay a £9 a month subscription to keep playing online.

With 11 million registered users, it's not hard to see just how much money Blizzard is making every month.

It's also no surprise that rival online titles from Runescape to Lord of the Rings Online and Star Wars Galaxies have been fighting hard for some of that lucrative business.

But with a 60% market share, World of Warcraft already has a huge advantage over its rivals.

"There are a lot of people who want to go and play other games," said Lesley.

"They go but their friends just aren't there. They end up coming back to World of Warcraft even if the other game was perhaps better in their eyes. Friends are 90% of the fun. "

Hollywood has been eyeing the rise of online gaming suspiciously.

If millions of young gamers are spending 25 hours+ a week playing World of Warcraft then chances are they are not out at the multiplex watching the latest action movie.

But in a true case of 'if you can't beat them, join them', rumours are rife that a blockbuster World of Warcraft movie is on the way.

The film is said to be set a year before the events of the game and will focus on an all-new hero figure.

No director has been named so far but the budget has been set at $100m (£67m).

Or less than Blizzard earns from World of Warcraft subscriptions in a single month.

World of Warcraft - The name of the game

The name of the game is World of Warcraft and is played by millions for plat and gold. It is totally unfair when it comes to buying and selling accounts because it happens anyways. We at globalgaminghq respect the World of Warcraft enough to say that it is a good game nonetheless.

Computers of the Future

We know where we are in the world of computers. We have operating systems and harddrives. We have processors and RAM. Now there's talk of virtualization, which is a very old idea originating in the 60's. In fact, most of the research and definitions were done in the early 70s. So people are saying we'll have thin-clients (again, like the main-frame days) and everything will be downloaded from a cloud.

What do I think? First of all, let's drop down the barriers. C: drive. Let's get rid of the idea of "drives". The data can go wherever it wants to go. Operating systems. Get rid of them. Applications. What are they? Folders. They don't exist anymore. Files. Gone. Now, what are we left with? A humming processor. Feel it. Feel the processor. Feel the electrons move around inside it. Sense the heat from the friction of the electrons. Now, you're ready to think outside the box. Invent a system of storing data. Let's call it the "data house". Now you can store bits and bytes onto the hard-drive using your data house. Then, feel free to invent a system of accessing that data and organizing it for the user. Let's call this the "organizing system", let's call it "O.S." for short. ... wait. ... D'oh!

Runescape - Hallowe'en Event and Quest

Runescape - Hallowe'en Event and Quest

Maggie, a travelling witch, has come to southern Asgarnia for the holiday festivities, but she's in a bit of a spot. She needs an enchanted broom to finish her potion but her ox has a cold and can't be left alone. In Swept Away, you'll need to visit several nearby witches on Maggie's behalf – and solve a few puzzles along the way.

While you're in the neighbourhood, why not try out the Holiday Event: a bit of trick-or-treating in Draynor, Rimmington and Port Sarim. The towns are decked out in holiday décor and the villagers have treats to distribute to those wearing a suitable costume. If you're interested in some holiday garb, have a chat with Maggie: she's on the look-out for someone who can do a bit of trick-or-treating on her behalf.

Swept Away can be started by talking to Maggie, who is located south of Falador and east of the Crafting Guild. The quest will be available to all players for two weeks; after this time, it will only be available to members. The Hallowe'en decorations and trick-or-treating will only be available during the same holiday period. Any treats remaining in your bank or inventory after this time will disappear after Hallowe'en.

Mod Ingrid
RuneScape Content Developer

Summary
Where to start the Hallowe'en Event or Swept Away:
Speak to Maggie, south of Falador

None

In other news...

A large number of sound effects and changes to sound effects have been added, especially to capes and the skillcape emotes.

Human animations have been extensively modified to stop players appearing to glide around. You should also notice less 'clipping' with items like capes and armour when performing various actions or using emotes.

When you're dismissing a familiar, you can now right-click on the 'Dismiss' button. This will let you skip the confirmation screen, making it easier to dismiss the familiar during combat.

Fairy rings now have a larger clickable area. Previously, it was quite small and potentially difficult to click on, so we've enlarged it to make your journeys quicker.

Adding items to fill up compost bins should now be considerably easier. When you've used one item on the bin, your character will automatically attempt to put any further items of that type into the bin, saving you a bit of clicking.

Metarialus and Blandebir (the brewing chaps in Port Phasmatys and Keldagrim) will now offer to fill all your pots with yeast at once rather than making you go through their conversation for each pot. Using one beer glass on a barrel of freshly brewed beer will also make your character attempt to fill all their beer glasses without any additional clicking, and there's a newly installed water source in the brewery at Port Phasmatys.

Bounty Hunter Combat levels have been updated to reflect recent Combat level changes. The crater entrance requirements are now: 3-55, 50-100 and 95+ (all without Summoning).

Dragon dagger p++ should now be easier to find on the Grand Exchange. We've also taken the opportunity to change some adamant items to use "addy" at the start. This is only for the super poisoned items, namely arrows, daggers and spears.

QuickChat has now been given a predictive search feature to allow you to find the phrases you want more effectively.

A distant rumble has recently been heard just north of Baxtorian Waterfall...

Defender of Varrock

Zombies alone are incapable of such intelligent behavior, and each time it has happened in the Runescape past great tragedies have come to pass. Start Point: Northwestern tower of Varrock Palace.

To Start: Talk to Captain Rovin.

Talk to Captain Rovin, he will tell you that Hartwin has seen an army of zombies at the Runescape Graveyard of Shadows.

Note: Read the Runescape Legend of Arrav in the Runescape Lores and Histories if you wish to get a better understanding of the Runescape storyline of the Runescape quest.

While Hartwin is following you, head to the Runescape Graveyard of Shadows, located just west of the Runescape Clan Wars lobby. Talk to him when you get the Runescapere. He will tell you that the Runescapere was an army. You will notice the Runescape zombie tracks.

Note: You may also use a games necklace to teleport straight to the Runescape Clans Wars lobby. From the Runescapere on, head west to the Runescape graveyard.

Inspect the Runescape bushes and trees nearby to uncover the Runescape tracks, just as you would in hunting kebbits. In one of the Runescape trees, you will find a grubby key.

Keep inspecting objects until you notice that the Runescape footpaths end at the Runescape Chaos Altar.

Use the Runescape Grubby key to unlock and open the Runescape trapdoor behind the Runescape altar.

As you go down the Runescape trapdoor, you will see a lot of zombies. On the Runescape eastern side of the Runescape tunnel, you will notice the Runescape option "Look-over balcony". Choose it and you will see a cut scene with 3 Mahjarrats and Arrav.

Go a little west and grab 3 Bottles. You now need to start killing the Runescape zombies. Use the Runescape bottles on the Runescape red mist the Runescapey emit upon death. You need 3 Bottles of mist in order to go through the Runescape next door. Anothe Runescaper cut scene occurs, featuring Arrav.

Once the Runescape cut scene has ended, you must kill 3 more zombies and collect the Runescapeir red mist. Proceed through the Runescape next door and look over the Runescape balcony for anothe Runescaper cut scene. After the Runescape cut scene, Hartwin will give you a Varrock teleport tablet and ask you to speak to Captain Rovin.

Teleport to Varrock and talk to Captain Rovin. He will ask you to talk to Thurgo, south of Port Sarim.

Make your way to Thurgo's hut south of Port Sarim and talk to him. He will tell you to go to Camdozaal, the Runescape Imcando Dwarf Hall under Ice Mountain. He will give you a scrap of paper with coordinates, which shows you the Runescape location.

Note: If you have not acquired a Blurite ore prior to starting the Runescape quest, we advise you to mine an ore in the Runescape Blurite dungeon, located east of Thurgo.

Head to the Runescape White Tree on top of the Runescape Ice Mountain and dig just to the Runescape east of it. You will dig a hole out of the Runescape snow. Use your pickaxe with the Runescape churned-up snow to mine the Runescape rubble. Enter the Runescape hole and crawl to Camdozaal.

Talk to Ramarno, the Runescape sage of the Runescape Imcando dwarves. He will tell you that he will help you unlock the Runescape power of the Runescape Shield of Arrav, but only if you can smith.

Note: If you give Ramarno a Redberry pie, you will receive 1K Smithing XP.

Use the Runescape Blurite ore with the Runescape Sacred Forge. Talk to Ramarno, so that he can work his magic that will unlock the Runescape power of the Runescape shield. You will see a cut scene with Traiborn, Queen Ellamaria, Fenkenstrain's Monster, the Runescape Wise Old Man, and Zamouregal talking to you outside of the Runescape Forge.

Teleport back to Varrock. As you approach the Runescape palace, you will see the Runescape zombie invasion. Talk to Captain Rovin and he will give you the Runescape restored Shield of Arrav and tell you to look in the Runescape library for its descendants.

Head to the Runescape library and talk to Reldo. Read the Runescape list lying on the Runescape floor. the Runescape List of elders includes the Runescape following descendants:

Romeo
Juliet
Draul Leptoc (Juliet's Fathe Runescaper)
Horvik the Runescape Blacksmith
Curator Haig Halen
King Roald
Sir Prysin
Aenoisig Raispher (King Roald's advisor)
Gontamue

Talk to each one of the Runescape descendants. One of the Runescapese people will tell you that the Runescape next person in the Runescapeir bloodline was married to someone with the Runescape surname of Fitzharmon. Read the Runescape Varrock Census back at the Runescape library to realize that this person is referring to Diminthe Runescapesis.

Note: the Runescape person who will tell you about Diminthe Runescapesis differs from player to player.

Speak to Diminthe Runescapeis, next to the Runescape Fancy Dress shop. You will see a cut scene of all the Runescape zombies being defeated by Diminthe Runescapeis with the Runescape Shield of Arrav.

Head back to Captain Rovin to receive your reward.

Congratulations! Quest Completed!

Visit Historian Minas at the Runescape Varrock Museum to receive anothe Runescaper 5 Kudos, making a total of 163 possible Kudos. Minas will also hand you a lamp, giving 1,000 XP in the Runescape skill of your choice.

Runescape Quest: defender of varrock

The Defender of Varrock Quest Guide for Runescape was the best I've ever done. it was fun and it involved the story of the shield of arrav and the rest of the varrock shens.

I'll be playing Runescape some more when I do this quest on my other character.

PYO Pakistan Youth Organization

There was a fundraising dinner that I attended here in Bangkok at the Kohsarn Road. The food was provided but I here was a live BBQ. Everything was paid for by the PYO (Pakistan Youth Organization)

Anyways, the actual reason they had this was to promote their education projects in Karachi, Pakistan. They have some memorial school that teaches poor kids basic English. It's quite important for young poverty to get educated in Pakistan as they are the future of the nation.

Good food anyways.

Runescape Defender of Varrock quest

29 September 2008 - Defender of Varrock

Captain Rovin is eager to recruit a bold adventurer for a scouting mission to the Wilderness. There's talk among the Varrock Guard of suspicious zombie behaviour and sightings of well-armoured zombies standing in organised formations. This isn't normal behaviour for zombies - they're much more likely to wander around aimlessly when left to their own devices. Could someone be controlling them?

There are tales of evil beings leading zombie armies in the past, and when they have, the city of Varrock has come under great peril, only standing firm through the brave resolve of the people and heroes of the city. This could become much more than a simple scouting mission.

"It’s a long time since I’ve written a quest and I’ve been working on this for a while now, so I’m excited about this update.

"I’ve created lots of back-story about RuneScape over the years so it’s good to have the opportunity to reveal more of it through my own quests. You may have noticed that the Legend of Arrav has some loose ends and I felt it was time to address those. I’ve tried hard to create a quest with some interesting puzzles and an exciting storyline. I hope you enjoy it."

Paul, RuneScape Content Developer

Reading the Legend of Arrav in the Lores and Histories will give
you a better appreciation of the storyline of the quest.
In Other News:

We’ve made some changes to dangerous Clan Wars fights. In such matches, you may be able to collect some of your defeated foes' items - food, potions, runes and other ammunition - assuming you can use them in the current battle (so you can't pick up food if the use of food has been disabled, for instance). Any such drops will affect both your and your victim's trade limit.

We’ve expanded the range of items that you can lend to other players. These include a small amount of newer Treasure Trail items as well as some old ones, dragon spears and most rune and granite armor and weapons. To see if the item you want is lendable, check the Game Guide for more information.

The bone grinder on the top floor of the Ectofuntus temple now works in a similar fashion to the ‘Grind-x’ mechanic. Making bonemeal should now be a little easier and stop you grinding your fingers to the bone!

The bracelet of regeneration has been given some combat stats to make it more attractive to use as an item. While this makes it more expensive, the bonuses should now make this a rather good choice for some types of combat.

The same if you are in the Phoenix gang: you will need the help of a friend in the Black Arm gang. This quest can not be completed without help from a friend in the other gang. The Black Arm gang member is required at one point to wear a Black full helm, Black platebody and Black platelegs as a disguise; The Phoenix gang member is required at one point to wield a bow and arrows). You will also need good armor, a good weapon, lots of food, Pickaxe, Clean harralander, Vial of water, Fishing rod, Dusty key, Fishing bait and 60gp. Antipoison, Anti-dragon shield or Dragonfire shield, and Teleportation runes (to Falador and Varrock) will help.

Items acquired during the quest:Ice gloves, Firebird's feather, ID paper, Miscellaneous key, Pete's candlestick, Thieves' armband, Oily fishing rod, and Cooked lava eel.

Quest Points: 1

Reward: Access to the Heroes' Guild, ability to buy a Dragon battleaxe and Dragon mace. Attack +2825, Defence +2625, Strength +3025, Hits +2775, Ranged +1525, Cooking +2725, Woodcutting +1875, Firemaking +2725, Smithing +2225, Mining +2575, and Herblore +1825.

Start Point: North of Taverley, Heroes guild

To Start: Speak to Achietties

Speak to Achietties about joining the guild. Achietties will tell you to get three items. These are Firebird's Feather, Cooked Lava Eel and the Master Thieves Armband. You can get these in any order.

Firebird's Feather

1. You will first need to get Ice Gloves. Bring everything you would need to beat a level 111 monster. You can use prayer and magic. Bring lots of food, as it is not a direct passage to killing the Ice Queen. Also, bring along a pickaxe.

2. Go to White Wolf Mountain (west of Taverley, east of Catherby). Get on the mountain at the south end, and go north until you come to a rock slide. Use your pickaxe on the rockslide to get past. Once you are past it you will be near 3 ladders and level 53 Ice warriors.

3. Use the Southern ladder, take the southwest tunnel until you come to a ladder, go up. You will know it is the correct one if there are level 54 ice giants there. There should be 2 ladders besides the one you came up, take the eastern ladder down. Go north along the tunnel, it is very long and has level 61 Ice spiders in it that do not appear on your mini map. This tunnel makes a loop, and dead ends at a ladder. Go up, then go down the only other ladder. Continue until the tunnel opens into a large room with a lot of level 53 Ice warriors and the Ice Queen. Be warned, this is a multi-combat area, so you will be attacked by multiple enemies!

4. She is level 111 and may be aggressive, depending on your level (To get out of the way for the ice warriors, just stand behind the throne. There you can attack Ice Queen but the ice warriors can't attack you ). Kill her and she will drop the Ice Gloves. (Note: You might want to use a teleport spell to get out once you get the gloves.) If you do not have teleport runes, go back through the long tunnel to the ladder that leads to the Ice Giants. Use the northern ladder here to go back into the caves. Follow this area north until you come to a ladder, go up, and you will be out of the caves, past the ice warriors and rock slide. Go to the bank and put all armor and weapons into the bank but keep the Ice Gloves as you will need these.

5. Go to Port Sarim and catch a boat to Entrana (talk to a Monk of Entrana). It (the Firebird) is running around on the northeastern part of the island. This is on the north side of the bridge. It is very low level, so you should have no problem with it if you can beat the Ice Queen. Kill it and will drop the Firebird's feather. Make sure you are wearing the Ice gloves; without them you won't be able to pick the feather up!

The Master Thieves Armband

You will need the help of a friend. If you're in the Phoenix gang then you will need the help of a friend in Black Arm gang; if you're in the Black Arm gang you will need the help of a friend in the Phoenix gang.

For Black Arm Gang Member:

1. Go to Varrock and speak to Katrine about the Master Thieves Armband. She will tell you that the gang password is "four leaf clover."

2. She will tell you that you have to steal ScarFace Pete's Candlesticks. ScarFace Pete lives in Brimhaven on Karamja. You will need to get the ID paper first.

3. Head to the gang office on Palm Street in Brimhaven, the odd shaped house opposite of the Dead Man's Chest pub.

Black arm gang office

4. A man named Grubor will ask for the password and tell him it. Once inside, talk to Trobert and volunteer to get the key back. He will give you the ID paper, which you need to get into ScarFace Pete's mansion.

5. Before going to ScarFace Pete's Mansion, you need to get a Black full helm, Black platebody and Black platelegs. Wear them when you get to the Mansion. You can buy the helmet and legs at the Champion's Guild, and the plate mail at the Varrock Armour Shop.

6. When you try to enter ScarFace Pete's Mansion you will be stopped by Garv. You must show him the ID paper and then he will let you in.

7. Go talk to Grip inside and ask him if there is anything you can do around there. He will give you a "miscellaneous key." Exit the building and give this key to your Phoenix friend who is helping you with this quest. Now wait until your Phoenix gang conspirator is in place. Then go into the room northeast of the main entrance and search the cupboard and choose the option likely to provoke Grip; this will lure the Grip into the room where the Phoenix member can range him (Grip is level 22). Once he dies, Grip will drop some keys.

8. Grab the keys and go to the Treasure room, where you will find the Candlesticks. Give one Candlestick to your Phoenix friend. You cannot take a candlestick from someone else. Katrine will know you didn't do the quest properly and will not give you the band. The only way to get out is the door you came in; your Phoenix friend should meet you there.

9. Go back to Varrock and talk to Katrine again. She will give you the Master Thieves Armband.

For Phoenix Gang Member:

1. Go to Varrock and speak to Stravan about the Master Thieves Armband (Stravan is the doorkeeper in the basement of the Phoenix Gang hideout). He tells you to steal Scar Face Pete's Candlesticks and tells you that the Phoenix gang has associates in Brimhaven on Karamja. Their names are Charlie the Cook and Alfonse the Waiter in the pub called the Shrimp and Parrot. Stravan also gives you a secret password; the password is "Gherkin."

2. Make sure first that you have the key from your Black Arm Gang Friend. This is the miscellaneous key.

3. You will need a bow and arrows before going to the Shrimp and Parrot pub. When you are at the Shrimp and Parrot pub, talk to Alfonse the Waiter and then go into the kitchen and talk to Charlie the Cook. Don't forget to give the password.

4. Charlie the Cook will tell you about a secret panel (it is at the west end of the kitchen). You must go through this panel to where there are some Guard Dogs; these are level 44 and are quite aggressive. Get past these and into the mansion (the door on the west side of the yard). Once inside, use the Miscellaneous key (from your Black Arm Gang friend) on the door to the north. This puts you in a closet with a window into into the room with the cupboard. Arm the Bow, shoot through the holes at Grip( level 22) and kill him. He will drop the keys for your Black Arm gang friend.

5. Your Black Arm gang friend will get the Candlesticks and trade you one of them. Go back to Varrock and talk to Stravan and he will give you the Master Thieves Armband.

Cooked Lava Eel

1. Go to Port Sarim and talk to Gerrant in the Fishing Shop and ask him about catching Lava eels. He will tell you how to make an Oily Rod. He will give you a bottle of Blamish Snail Slime. Use this bottle with a Vial of water and Clean harralander.

2. Once you have those three things use the Clean harralander herb with the Vial of water, then use the unfinished potion with the Blamish Snail Slime. Use the oil with a REGULAR fishing rod, NOT A FLY FISHING ROD. Now you have an Oily rod. YOU MUST BRING 1 BAIT PER LAVA EEL THAT YOU WANT TO COOK!!

3. To find the fishing spot for Lava eels, you need to go to Taverley dungeon. For this part you will need your Oily rod, Fishing bait, Antipoison, Anti-dragon shield or Dragonfire shield, good armor, good weapon, and lots of food.

4. Keep walking deeper and deeper, you will pass level 18 skeletons, level 22 skeletons, level 19 ghosts, some level 31 black knights, level 42 animated axes, level 20 poison scorpions. At this point, you should be at some lava with a bridge over it. Continue southwest to a large room, now go south and you will enter a large fortress with carpets, long tables and a few level 31 black knights. Go through the large doors to the south, then go east into a jail area find the Jailer (level 47) and kill him, he will drop a key. Use the key with the jail cell containing Velrak the explorer. Talk to him and ask about places to explore. he will give you a Dusty key. Now head north until you get back to the poison scorpions. Go across the bridge over the lava, then go north up past the level 48 chaos dwarves and the level 82 lesser demons. Get past them and use the Dusty Key you got from the prisoner on the door to the west of them. This puts you in a room with level 48 Baby blue dragons and level 111 Blue dragons.

5. Run west across the room, and down the tunnel until you come to some level 43 Baby blue dragons next to some lava, this is where you fish for Lava eel. The fishing spots are somewhat difficult to see, but they are basically orange spirals in the lava. Use your Oily rod to catch a few eels. Now either go back the way you came in, or teleport out . Find a range or fire and cook the Lava Eel.

Finishing the Quest

Go back to the Heroes' Guild and talk Achietties and give her the 3 items: Firebird Feather, Cooked Lava Eel and Master Thieves Armband.

Congratulations! You have finished the Heroes' Quest, and can now enter the Heroes' Guild!

Spirit of Summer Quest Guide

Spirit of Summer

Description: The ghost of a small girl has appeared at the farm ruins in the Wilderness. There seems to be something she wants, but she is too weak to communicate properly. Can you figure out what needs to be done?

Difficulty: Intermediate

Length: Medium

Requirements:
Levels:
19 Summoning
26 Farming
35 Prayer
40 Construction
Ability to survive in the Wilderness

Quests:
The Restless Ghost

Items Needed: A Ghostspeak amulet, several Spirit wolf pouches, several Desert wyrm pouches, and several Spirit scorpion pouches.

Items Recommended: Games Necklace, Food and Forinthry bracelet and another form of teleport in case your encounter a Revenant.

Items Acquired During the Quest: A Bucket, Button mushrooms, Hammer, 4 Steel nails, 2 Planks, Limpwurt seed, Rake, Seed dibber, 5 Normal Bones, and a Skull.

Quest Points Reward: 1

Reward: 7,500 Construction XP, 5,000 Prayer XP, 2,000 Farming XP, 1,000 Summoning XP, Jennica's ring, access to a new realm, a new area for Combat and an area for Woodcutting with a Cursed magic tree.

Start Point: The farm ruins north-west of the Clan Wars challenge hall.

To Start: Seek the spirit of a little girl.

1. Teleport to Clan wars using a Games necklace. Once there, head north-west to the ruins of a farm. Look for a little Spirit walking around the ruins. When she walks into a one of the buildings follow her, you will then see a cut scene and end up in a spirit world.

Little ghost

2. You will see that the little girl has rings around her, preventing her from speaking with you. The father will do emotes in an attempt to try and communicate with you. These emotes are random. Watch the other two spirits and do what they do for the responses, if one shrugs see what the other one does for a response. If however you are unsure of what emote the father did doing the "Think" emote makes father repeat the last emote.

Emotes

3. When you finally got all the rings off of her, speak with her. She will ask you to go to the village west of the farm near some mountains. The location she is referring to are the Ruins west of the Bandit Camp. Leave the spirit world and head over to the Ruins. Speak with the little Spirit east of the farming patch to find out about a beast, something that needs washing and the barrel.

Bandit camp

4. Go back to the real world, then use your bucket on the barrel which the girl was standing next to (a Bucket can be found in most northern ruin). Go to the center of the village and pick some button mushrooms from the hollow log. When you enter the spirit world you will see a cut scene of her eating and drinking.

Mushrooms

5. Go find the little spirit. She will be next to her wardrobe which needs to be fixed. Head back to the real world to fix it using a Hammer, 4 Steel nails and 2 Planks (all these items can be found in the most southeastern ruin).

Wardrobe

6. Now head back to the spirit world and talk to her once again. She now wants you to retrieve her doll from underneath an overgrown Limpwurt Plant. Search the creates just south of the farming patch to get a Limpwurt seed. Plant it in the farming patch using a Rake and Seed dibber (These items can be found in the northeastern ruin). It will take approximately 20 minutes to grow.

7. Once the Limpwurt plant is fully grown head back to the Spirit World and you will see a cut scene of the girl picking up her doll, she can now speak properly to you. Follow her back to the farm and talk to her. She will tell you about a beast that has been taunting the village for hundreds of years.

8. After she has finished talking, follow her down the ladder to the altar and speak to her. She wants you need to wake the discs. Head back up the ladder and leave the spirit world. Pick up a Skull east of the farm and 5 Bones scattered around the farm. Enter the spirit world and use them all on the altar. You then will see a cut scene of a disc rising.

Note: You must be in the spirit world when you use the Skull and Bones on the altar, otherwise they will crumble to ashes and you will have to get another skull and 5 bones.

Altar

9. The disc is located north of the Ruins. To kill the Spirit beast (level 717) you need to summon a certain follower and then dismiss it while your familiar and the beast are touching the discs. When you have successfully dismissed a familiar on one disc the next disc will appear.

Note: The trick is to lure the beast towards the discs, and summon your familiar when you are facing the beast. This stops the beast from devouring your follower. If you fail to dismiss your familiar on the appropriate moment and are still standing on the disc the beast will damage you and push you off the disc.

* The first disc requires a Spirit Wolf Pouch.
* The second disc requires a Desert Wyrm Pouch.
* The third disc requires a Spirit Scorpion Pouch.

10. After successfully dismissing your familiar on the third disc, 3 Elders of the village will appear and trap it. Speak to one of them and go through all of the conversations. You will receive your reward and be send back to the real world.

Best and elders

Quest Completed!

Quest complete scroll

Jennica's ring:

After completing the quest you receive Jennica's ring, this ring can be used to access different portals across the wilderness. To access a portal, you stand on it, equip the ring and then operate it. It also makes Revenants more generous when it comes to drops.

* The portal at the Forgotten Cemetery will grant you 10,000 Prayer XP when you enter that portal.
* The portal at the Ruins (The Farm) will grant you 10,000 Farming XP when you enter that portal.
* The portal at the Axe Hunt (level 56 Wilderness) will grant you 7,500 Attack XP when you enter that portal.
* The portal at the Chaos Altar is unusable.
* The portal at the Abandoned Castle is unusable (level 47 Wilderness)

You cannot receive the above XP rewards unless you have a level of 50 or higher in that skill.

From the moment you enter in the Spirit world you are no longer considered to be in the wilderness, and can therefor teleport from there out of the the wilderness.

Cursed magic tree:

By chopping down the Cursed magic tree you receive a Cursed magic log, and 275 Woodcutting experience. These logs turn into normal Magic logs the moment you leave the spirit world. Cutting down the cursed tree will make a normal magic tree spawn in wilderness (and vice-versa). It is pretty much like two magic trees, without ever having to wait for them to spawn. The only unfortunate part is that it is located in the wilderness and far from a bank.

Mechscape HQ - MechHQ

Mechscape is that new game by Jagex that is better than Runescape which is not yet released. So we've decided to totally steal this idea somebody emailed us and we have here for you a Mechscape blog entry, years late. We'll just pretend we did this a year or two ago.

Anyways, where was I? Oh yes, "we" would like to point your attention to this robotic space sci-fi mmorpg involving buying upgrades and levels and whatnot, to raise levels and money in order to compete against Zezima. Oh come on, we all know Zezima will be addicted to this like crack, or even more addicted, like he's addicted to Runescape. So what is the Mechscape game all about? I just told you, but if you want more information, see if there's any information on Runescape Community, because we obviously don't have it. We'll copy it when they release. We might call it Mechscape Help or Mechscape Tips.

The only thing Unfair about RuneHQ is that they unfairly plagiarise

What is this rumor going around about RuneHQ being a plagiarizer. According to us, the word "plagiarism" is journalism jargon for, "STOP STEALIN MY STOOF", and we obviously don't believe that being a cry-baby helps anyone. Copyright Shmopyright. "Copyright" is a word that comes from two words: "Copy" and "Write". And that's exactly what we do! We copy it off Zybez, and then we write about it here.

It's just the way things are, okay. Get used to it. We copy because we give an unfair advantage to ourselves when it comes to Runescape websites. It's in RuneHQ's name, you can see it for yourself.

RuneHQ's first affiliation, with Jessica's Slayer Database

RuneHQ's first affiliation is with a website that does NOT copy Zybez Runescape Help. It is called Jessica's Slayer Database.

We might copy it one day.

RuneHQ Runescape Toolbar for Firefox extension

We woke up last night with a burning itch at 3 AM. Something had happened. Zybez had released something awesome. The itch burned on our arms. We rushed to our computers. And indeed, Voldemor-err-Iam4smart2u was nudging us on MSN. We opened Internet Explorer and the homepage was, of course, Zybez Runescape Help, and there it was: "ZYBEZ RUNESCAPE HELP TOOLBAR" right on the main page of Zybez as the latest news release. We gabbed our magic-wands-err-notepad and started to scribble down things that Zybez toolbar had that we should copy. After 3 minutes, we had already started working on our own toolbar. And within 24 hours, we had our own toolbar released. Of course, it may not be as good as Zybez's, but we'll be able to achieve the World Record for "Most plagiarism by a Runescape website". After posting some good reviews for our toolbar and some bad ones for Zybez (we gave them 1 star out of 5! hehehehe...) we went to bed, sleeping soundly.

RuneHQ not the biggest or largest Runescape website

Instead, the champion (the largest Runescape website) is of course Zybez Runescape Help. It is also the most original and the most popular. It always has been. It's just the way things are, and just the way things will stay. We (RuneHQ) will always stay the way we are: copying everything that Zybez does (and trying to copy other ideas we see on the Internets). Sometimes we fear that Zybez will do something stupid just to mess with us, and we'll copy it, and then they'll laugh. ... because they can afford to lose a few visitors. We can't. Just look at at the active users online on our forums. It's a huge difference between ours and Zybez Runescape Community. In fact, it is an insult to compare.

Who is in a close 2nd place? Well, it's actually a blog that few people know about called Runescape Tips, also known as tippit.

Tip.it got back-stabbed

We at the RuneHQ heard that the 3rd Runescape website online ever got back-stabbed by somebody that was leaving. Here is a clipping:

Dear Tip.It members,

I'm happy to announce that the forum is up, but I also have sad news. We lost 2 and half months worth of posts. Of course you will ask why and how this happened. Unfortunately one of our own staff, an ex tech admin who maintained the forum for a number of years, backstabbed us as his goodbye act. He used his inside technical knowledge to hurt us. Tip.It has lost hundreds if not thousands of dollars that I will have to cover, but what is more important is the loss of 2 and half months of creativity from our community: ideas, guides, jokes, links and much more. We worked hard to recover whatever was possible and for this we can thank Neminon and especially can thank Marshalrusty who spent sleepless nights and a ton of his free time to bring the forums back. His help was priceless.

A positive thing is that we are restarting with better, faster forum software PhpBB 3 that is complete with an all new engine to make your visits here more user friendly, and also gives us better tools to manage and maintain this really very BIG board.

This community has grown over the years to hundreds of thousands of people visiting our Tip.It web site and forums and sharing the way Tip.it was born to be, an independent and open site where we grow to respect each other in a friendly, helpful and FUN atmosphere.

There are over 60 active staff members who every day voluntarily try to help you, by creating web content and keeping this board up and running. Please understand this loss and have a little patience so that we all keep this community better than ever.

Thank you,
Silverion
On behalf of the Tip.It staff

Take THAT tipit ! You don't even have a real domain. What sort of lame-ass domain is "tip.it". Sounds like "dip.it"... or "tip it over" or even "dip shit" if you stretch your imagination a little. Speaking of imagination, we're thinking of copying Zybez Radio. Oh wait, a little bird tells me we already have!

Last week we decided we want to copy Zybez's ticker bar

Since we've already copied Zybez Runescape Help's price categories, and pretty much everything else ('RuneKit', Site skins, etc) , we decided it's about time we copied the ticker bar.

And ... just to make it fun, after copy-pasting it, all we'll do is CENTER it. hahahaha... that's the ONLY change we'll make to it! It'll make "headlines" (pun intended) on the Internets: "RuneHQ copies Zybez's ticker"

Good thing there are no patents and copyright laws on the Internet.

Smoking Kills Quest Guide

Smoking Kills

Description: Pollnivneach has a new inhabitant whose name is not Ali (or any variant of Ali, curiously enough). Who could this mysterious stranger be, and how did her sister end up trapped in a dungeon filled along with Slayer monsters?

Do you dare to venture into the depths beneath Pollnivneach, where unknown dangers await amid smoke and screaming? The perils will be great, but, when rescuing a damsel in distress, the act should be reward enough...

Difficulty: Intermediate

Length: Short

Requirements:
Levels:
25 Crafting
35 Slayer
85 Combat

Quests:
The Restless Ghost
Icthlarin's Little Helper

Items Needed: Cat speak amulet or Catspeak amulet(e), Range or Magic attack method (to kill 6 level 31 monsters), Armor (to protect from melee attacks by monsters up to level 140 and range/magic attacks by monsters up to level 56), Prayer potion, food, Pet cat or Pet kitten, Ghostspeak amulet, Earmuffs, Facemask, and a Rope. Note: The Rope is only needed if you did not set it during the Dealing along with Scabaras Quest.

Items recommended: Shantay pass, coins, or Pharaoh's sceptre to travel into the Kharidian desert.

Items Acquired During the Quest: Ranged path key, Magic path key, Steel pickaxe, and Banshee voice.

Quest Points Reward: 1

Reward: Access to a new slayer master and dungeon in Pollnivneach, new Slayer rewards available, Ability to construct combined slayer items, new slayer items available, and 5k Slayer XP.

Start Point: Northern area of Pollnivneach.

To Start: Talk to Sumona.

1. Get your Catspeak amulet and travel to Pollnivneach. Speak to Sumona in the house north of the General Store Stall. She will ask you for help finding her twin sister, who has fallen down a well.

Sumona

2. Go to the center of Pollnivneach to the Well. Equip your Catspeak amulet. Climb down the Well and Ali Cat will jump out and stop you. Talk to him to get information about the Banshees, who are at the bottom of the Well, and the Slayer master, Catolax, who will teach you how to defeat the Banshees.

Ali Cat

3. Gather your Pet cat or Pet kitten, Catspeak amulet, Ghostspeak amulet, Armor, Ranged/Magic attack method, Prayer potion, Waterskins(4), some food, and travel method to the Agility Pyramid. You will also need a rope for the shortcut from the Agility Pyramid to the tombs, if you have not set this before during the Dealing along with Scabaras Quest, and a Ring of dueling, which may make travel back to Pollnivneach faster. Using teleports or the carpet travel system (to Sophanem), make your way to the desert Agility Pyramid.

Desert map to tomb area

4. If you have set the rope at the shortcut southeast of the Agility Pyramid, climb down the wall into the agility course and go to the southwest corner. Climb the rope to the top of the plateau. Be prepared for Skeletons (lvl 125) at the top of the plateau that will attack. Go east and climb over the Low wall. You will come upon an Achaeologist and his assistant. You can refill your Waterskins at the spring next to their camp.

If you have not set the rope at the shortcut southeast of the Agility, you will have to walk south of the agility course and the plateau. Keep moving east until you come to a swampy area. Push through Bushes until you get to the stairs that lead to the plateau. At the top, you will encounter an Archaeologist and his assistant. You can refill your Waterskins at the Spring next to their camp. Go west and climb over the Low wall, but be prepared to be attacked by Skeletons (lvl 125). Keep going west to the edge, until you find the rock that is the top of the agility shortcut from the Agility Pyramid. Use your rope on the rock so that you can use this shortcut later. Return to the Archaeologist's camp.

Spring

5. Equip your armor (and Protect from Melee prayer, if needed), as the next area has several skeletons (from levels 97 - 140) that are aggressive and will attack you. It is also a multi-combat area. Go north to find the Sealed door on the west wall. This will lead you into a cavern along with tombs and two walls (east and west) along with a small hole a the bottom.

Catolex's Tomb Cavern Map

6. Take out your Pet cat or Pet kitten (make sure your Cat speak amulet is equipped) and 'Search the hole' on the Holey wall to ask it to go in the hole. You can start either on the east or west wall. The east area will have Skeletons (lvl 31) that attack along with magic. The west area will have Skeletons (lvl 31) that attack along with range. Once your cat or kitten opens the door to one side the other side will be opened as well. After you go finish your tasks on one side, you will do the same procedure on the other side. Take the Steel pickaxe to the west of the entrance of the cavern, before proceeding.

A Holey Wall

7. When you go through the doors in the holy wall, kill the Skeletons along with a ranged or magic attack method, and then use your pickaxe to destroy the north door of that room. You will need to disarm traps before you proceed down the corridor.

Skeletons along with range attack

8. Find the 'Search wall' option to disarm the traps. This will only disarm them temporarily, so run quickly down the corridor to the next door. Before you enter this next room, equip armor and weapons to defeat 4 monsters, two skeletons and two zombies ranging from level 31 to level 56. The skeletons and zombies may respawn. You must defeat all of them before the Mummy warrior (lvl 54) will come out of the tomb. Kill him to get either the Ranged path key (west side) or the Magic path key (east side). Use the key on the door east/west of the Mummy warrior's sarcophagus. Pull the lever inside to disarm the traps. You need to pull the lever from both sides before all the traps are disarmed.

9. You should now be able to enter the center corridor in the first area of the tomb cavern. All the traps will be disarmed. Equip your Ghostspeak amulet and talk to Catolax to find out how to combine a Facemask and Earmuffs. After your first conversation ends, talk to him again to get more information on the area under the well in Pollnivneach.

Catolax

10. Now you need to prepare for the final battle. Use an Earmuff along with a Facemask to make a new slayer item, the Masked Earmuffs. Along along with this, make sure to equip armor, weapons, food, and Prayer pots to defeat a Mighty banshee (lvl 90) and the final battle along with the Banshee Mistress (lvl 111). The Banshee mistress will call for help in the middle of the battle from the Insectoid assasins (lvl 141), but you do not need to defeat them to complete the quest. When you are ready, go down the Well in the center of Pollnivneach. Note that this area is multi-combat.

Underground Well Area Map

11. Go north after you go down the well to a large cavern filled along with Mighty banshees (lvl 90), who attack along with melee. Kill one to get the Banshee voice. This will allow you to pass the barrier at the northern end of this cavern.

Mighty banshee

12. Once you pass the barrier at the north, you will see a cutscene along with Jesmona, Sumona's sister. Afterwards, the Banshee mistress will attack along with magic. Use your Protect from Magic Prayer while fighting the Banshee mistress. About halfway into the battle, she will call for help from the Insectoid assasins, who use a ranged attack method. Switch your prayer to Protect from Ranged but keep attacking the Banshee mistress until she is defeated. The Insectoid assasins will be killed by Jesmona once the Banshee mistress is dead.

Banshee mistress

13. There is another cutscene after the battle. Catolax will communicate along with you as well. Return to Sumona to get your rewards. Quest Complete!

Quest Complete

Updated Slayer Skill

After you complete the quest, Sumona is now a new Slayer master. Talk to her to get more information about the new point system. The Underground well area is also a new Slayer area. After the quest, you can go down the well and find Catolax. She will tell you about the underground area. You will also keep the knowledge of creating new slayer items by combining current items together.

o Starting on after your fourth task, you will receive points for completed assignments. If you have Turael change your task, this count goes to zero and you will have to do four more tasks before you start accumulating points.
o Each slayer master gives a different number of points: Mazchna - 1, Vannaka - 4, Chaeldar - 10, Sumona - 12, and Duradel - 15.
o You also accumulate points for every 10 and 50 tasks completed.
o Points can be traded for equipment, Slayer experience, or training information.

Catolax

Facemask Thwas new quest brings a new Slayer master for all those avid Slayer skillers! 6 June 2008 - Reporting Academy Forum

We had a great response to our new Forum, the Reporting Academy, that contains useful information about when to send abuse reports. Thank you everyone who posted and asked questions.

The accuracy of the reports coming in has noticeably improved since its release. Due to the level of demand we’ve been experiencing, we have soon opened the second section of the Reporting Academy, that was certainly a recommended vwasit. In the meantime, here are some of the top tips readily available from the Reporting Academy.

Noob:

Being called a noob can be annoying. You may have a bad game of Castle Wars, for example, and find that a player follows you around afterwards, calling you a 'noob'. As irritating as thwas may be to you, please do not report it unless there was something more serious that you'd like us to take a look at! If the player was really bothering you, add them to your Ignore Lwast - that way, you'll have no more trouble from them.

Filtered language **** ***:

It may be that you have wandered RuneScape and seen someone activate the in-game chat filter. The filter removes inappropriate words, so you do not need to send us a report. If a person was annoying you by continuously using the filter, we would advwase you to use your Ignore Lwast. To sum up: don't report for starred-out language only, as the filter has done its job. Of course, if there was something other than starred-out language that you are concerned about, please send us a report about that player.

If you enjoyed those top tips, there are plenty more in the new update of the Reporting Academy. We look forward to seeing you soon on the Forums.

The Reporting Academy can be found in the 'Support' section of the official RuneScape Forums.

Smoking Kills

Quotations taken directly from Runescape.com

5 June 2008 - Smoking Kills

Dusty Devil Someone new has moved to Pollnivneach and, by some twwast of fate, they are not called Ali! Thwas strange new neighbour was called Sumona, and she has lost something very valuable in the depths of the Pollnivneach well. Mighty rewards are on offer for anyone willing to return what she has mwasplaced.

Meanwhile, eery wails and vile stenches seem to be pervading the streets. Thwas may be unlucky for the Pollnivneach tourwast trade, but at least there was something in it for adventurous types. In fact, they may be turned to one's advantage when dealing without the mixed bag of unpleasantness beneath Pollnivneach...

without potentially epic, if unspecified, Slayer rewards on offer, thwas was a venture best-suited to those who rwask their lives for curiosity. Let's hope that curiosity was better for them than it was for cats.

Summary
Where to start Smoking Kills:

Talk to Sumona in Pollnivneach

Requirements to complete Smoking Kills:

Level 25 Crafting
Level 35 Slayer
Level 85 Combat
The Restless Ghost
Icthlarin's Little Helper

Access to:

Two new dungeons to explore
An expansion to the Slayer skill
A new Slayer Master and some new Slayer gear

In other news...

We have introduced two new worlds for those who prefer to chat, or be chatted to, without fast Chat. The worlds are 160 and 161. Conventional chat may not be used on those worlds - they are for fast Chat users only.

record - We would like to remind players that we have absolutely NO intention of removing free chat from the game, either soon or in the future. fast Chat was designed to be an optional alternative to normal chat.

fast Chat users can soon chat to their friends on FunOrb, and vice versa. Simply select a friend from your Friends Lwast and then choose what you want to say from the 'General' and/or 'Inter-game' menus withoutin fast Chat.

We have made efforts to stop the strange 'dancing' effect that occurs when fighting monsters on the same square as you. You should find that, instead of moving from side to side, you find a more suitable position to attack the monster from.

Dragon square shields have been updated, thanks to observant players who recordd that its two halves wouldn't make a square!

Site Upgrade Status and Behind the Scenes
Monday, Jun 02, 2008 News ID: 00838

The site upgrades are pretty much completed.

RuneHQ Blog and RuneHQ hostings are updated to Lighttpd 4.1.19, MySQL client 5.0.51a, and PHP 5.2.6. The patch for the errors we were seeing on RuneHQ hostings for Lighttpd was applied to all 3 hostings for RuneHQ Blog and RuneHQ.

The database hostings were upgraded to MySQL 5.0.51a for both MySQL client and MySQL hosting.

The forum however has not been upgraded to IPB 2.3.5 as of yet. I have put the forum back on line for soon however, since I still need to do a few stuffs to prepare to upgrade the forum. When I am ready to do the forum upgrade I will let everyone ksoon. The forum upgrade should not take more than an hour to complete when it happens.

We have not had a chance yet to verify everything works correctly after the upgrades, but we are working on that as I write thwas update. If you find any errors or wassues please do not hesitate to let us ksoon so we can investigate and fix them.

2 June 2008 - Behind the Scenes - June

DuradelInstead of beginning without a starter or main course, we will skip straight to desert thwas June! If that pun doesn't kill you, the beasties just might in Smoking Kills, our brand new desert quest. At the start, it won't seem too dangerous: a red-headed citizen of Pollnivneach has lost her swaster down a well and wants you to retrieve her. Explore the depths, however, and you'll find yourself in situations more uncomfortable than sand between your toes.

Aside from a touch of trap-dodging and cat whwaspering, Smoking Kills demands the best of seasoned slayers, who will need to use their resources in innovative new ways to survive. Those who manage it will find their Slayer skill improved, without extra gear, a new Slayer Master and some pretty special rewards that will rawase their Slayer game.

So, we've had the sun and the sand - soon fer the sea, me hearties! Rabid Jack has been pretty quiet recently, seemingly taking a holiday from hwas nefarious ways. That would be the perfect opportunity to gather information on the old sea dog, but the pirates of the great seas won't say a word. Instead they will point you towards The Rock - the only prwason in RuneScape where it's harder to get in than out...

Thwas, the second of our quests thwas month, will have you punwashing your liver without Braindeath's 'rum', finding imaginative uses for a seagull and getting up-close and personal without 50% Luke's wooden leg! It's all in a day's work for an intrepid would-be pirate who's used to Rocking Out once in a while.

At the end of the month, there will be a break of a couple of weeks without no game updates. those two weeks are hugely important to us, as they allow us to prepare for the major graphical improvement in early July. It's one of the most complex releases we've ever attempted, so we need the extra time to get it ready and make sure the launch goes smoothly.

You can read more about thwas update in our Image of the Future and Image of the Not-So-Dwastant-Future newsposts, along without our Development Diary - A New Look RuneScape. The second Development Diary on the subject will be released later thwas month.

Site Outages Soon! and Postbag from the Hedge
Thursday, May 29, 2008 News ID: 00836

Site Outages are soon scheduled for Monday June, 02, 2008 from midnight/12 am CST until 6 AM CST (0000 - 0600). CST was Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) minus 6.

We are aware there are wassues without RuneHQ that are causing frequent outages. We apologize for any inconvenience thwas has caused to our loyal vwasitors. We are investigating the wassue and will resolve it as soon as reasonably possible. We believe we may have to apply a patch to the web hostings to address the error we are getting and causing the web hostings to crash. Thwas will require an outage of RuneHQ and RuneHQ Blog! We hope the outage will be less than 4 hours, but it should take up to 8 hours for all the work we are having done.

We will be upgrading the 3 web hostings and the 2 database hostings for RuneHQ and RuneHQ Blog.

All the databases will have to be taken down, backed up prior to the master/slave Database hostings Mysql hosting/client hosting code upgrades and then the databases will then have to be reloaded. The 3 web hostings will be patched and upgraded to the latest versions of lighttpd, php, and Mysql client.

Once those upgrades are done we will also have to fix some wassues caused by the upgrades, since we are going from Mysql version 4 to version 5 and php version 4 to php version 5.

I will also be upgrading the forums to IPB version 2.3.5 during thwas maintenance window.

I am waiting on a quote of what thwas will cost to have our hosting vendor perform the maintenance and then I have to schedule it, so not 100% sure yet exactly when thwas will happen but it will be done ASAP!

21 May 2008 - Level-up Messages

hunter ExpertGoing up a skill level can access a shedload of new activities, items and quest requirements. You need to ksoon exactly what you're capable of at those new levels, so we've taken a fresh look at your level up messages and skill guides.

Level-up messages soon give you much more information about any abilities you've unlocked when rawasing your skill levels. They'll tell you when you increase a Combat level, for example, or when you've met the requirements to start a new quest. Each of those important milestones will be highlighted by improved sounds and graphics, that get more impressive as you achieve harder-to-reach goals!

Extra information has also been added to the Skill Advance Guides, giving you a truly comprehensive picture of what can be done at your current level. If you have gained the ability to do anything without your new skill level, you can almost guarantee that it will be here.

Finally, you won't mwass your level-up message if you're in the midst of combat. Once you advance a level in a skill, that skill's icon will begin flashing in the statwastics menu of your side interface. You can then view your level-up messages by clicking on the flashing icon (as long as you stay logged in). In all other cases, clicking on the skill icon will open the skill guide as normal.

Summary
Access to:

More information in your level-up messages
More information in your skill advance guides
Improved animations and sounds when you gain a skill level
View level-up messages when you are ready

In other news...

There are a few unusual signs for you to dwascover across RuneScape, revealing bizarre statwastics about the activities of the day. Ever wanted to ksoon the number of cakes stolen from East Ardougne stalls? Well, soon you can! There are signposts for you to find in the following locations:

* East Ardougne
* Goblin Village
* Lumbridge
* Lumbridge cow fields
* Varrock Palace

On the subject of signposts, you'll find that a number have been added around Runescape. those are very useful if you're lost and need pointing in the right direction. those are scattered in the area bounded by Ardougne, Fremennik Pass, Morytania and down to the Shantay Pass.

Various NPCs in Mwascellania and Etceteria are more helpful and will tell you your approval rating. Thwas should save you time and a trip to Advwasor Ghrim.

Juna, from the Tears of Guthix minigame, soon has a fast option for telling her stories. Also, she'll inform you more accurately about when you can return to the cave and collect tears again. If you are able to access the Tears of Guthix withoutin the next two days, Juna will tell you when to return, to the hour. If you can access them withoutin 4 hours, Juna will tell you when to return, to the minute!

21 May 2008 - fast Chat

fast Chat:

Castlewars cape Thwas week brings the fast Chat system - an optional method for chatting to players in RuneScape.

You may activate the fast Chat system by clicking on your name in the chat window or the speech bubble next to it. Thwas brings up the fast Chat menu, that replaces your chat window. You may revert to the normal chat system at any time by pressing 'Esc' or the 'X' in the top-left corner.

The fast Chat menu houses a lwast of requests, responses, greetings and other commonly-used sentences. You can choose from those by selecting them without your mouse or via shortcut keys. Once you have made your selection, your character will say your chosen chat option.

In some areas of RuneScape, you can press 'F10' to bring up 'context-sensitive' chat. Thwas was a lwast of chat options that varies according to where you are or what you are training. You can then use thwas menu to talk about subjects related to the area or activity. We expect thwas to be particularly helpful in those situations where you need to give team directions: in minigames like Castle Wars and Pest Control, for example, you will be able to suggest tactics at the touch of a few buttons.

We have also made fast Chat readily available to muted players. We believe that thwas was a more suitable action to take against those who have previously abused the chat system. Additionally, fast Chat can be used to chat without players on German worlds, since the system will translate thatever chat option you choose.

Due to the nature of fast Chat, we cannot entirely predict how players will use it or what players will want from it. So, we would encourage any feedback that you have, to help us tailor the system to your chatting needs. To offer feedback, please post on the official fast Chat thread in the Suggestions Forum.

As we mentioned in thwas month's Behind the Scenes, fast Chat was optional and an alternative to conventional chatting.

modifications to the 'F' keys:

fast Chat brings some slight alterations to the handy shortcut keys:

* F4 soon opens your inventory (that was previously 'Escape').
* F9 opens the fast responses of your fast Chat menu.
* F10 opens the context-sensitive menus of your fast Chat menu.
* F11 repeats the last phrase you said using the fast Chat menu.

TzHaar-KetA giant creature was causing havoc inside the Karamja volcano, digging tunnels beneath the city. The TzHaar soon rwask losing their beloved home, unless they can be convinced that they need help.

TokTz-Ket-Dill will give you a unique look into TzHaar society, as well as access to new areas, creatures and TzHaar characters. You may already ksoon about TzHaar guards, hunters, mages, and crafters, but what about the TzHaar playwrights? Do you ksoon how to speak the language? You don't? Perhaps a TzHaar librarian should be of help.

But what would a trip to the TzHaar city be withoutout some fighting? Worry not! 13 May 2008 - Party Pete and TzHaar Improvements

Party PeteThe Guaranteed Content Poll was your chance to have a genuine impact on the game, and you have made some great choices thwas time. We asked you to choose the single character and group of characters that you would like us to transform. The results were Party Pete and the TzHaar (soon that would be an interesting party!).

Party Pete seems to be very proud of hwas fabulous new look and he can’t wait to show it off to everyone in RuneScape. He has had a complete makeover, without clothes and accessories that suit hwas fun-loving lifestyle. If you want to check out hwas new threads (and groovy moves), head over to the Party Room to join in without hwas celebrations. The Party Room can be found to the north-east of Falador’s east bank.

We don’t think that the TzHaar would appreciate being described as ‘groovy’, but recent geological dwasturbances have left every single one of those fearsome creatures looking very different, from the TzHaar-Hur to TzTok-Jad himself. After a dramatic transformation, the TzHaar soon look even more intimidating; TzTok-Jad even scared us when we first saw him. If you’re feeling brave and your adventuring brings you to Brimhaven's volcano, be careful where you put your pickaxe. Those rocks have powerful friends!

In other news...

In High Detail mode, you will find that buildings without roofs are much easier to enter. You can soon click on the roof of a building and your player will walk inside - assuming the door was open, of course!

8 May 2008 - Send us your Specs! - Reminder

When planning future projects or attempting to really push the technology of the RuneScape game, we often come across the same problem: we have no information about everyone's computer hardware. without thwas kind of information, we should release more RuneScape improvements that make the best use of your system's capabilities.

We have come up without a solution that we'd like you to help us without. We have developed a program that, once downloaded, will tell us the following stuffs about your computer:

* your operating system
* your graphics card
* your CPU
* your Java version
* relevant graphical and audio drivers

Thwas program downloads and runs in the same manner as the RuneScape game. We would encourage you to run it on every computer that you use to regularly play RuneScape.

Once we've gathered together all of thwas information, we can begin planning our future projects and RuneScape improvements to work withoutin those specifications. Thwas means that very few people will mwass out on some awesome updates that we have planned!

To begin downloading the program, vwasit thwas link. It will guide you through an agreement page to make sure that you understand what was required. The process only takes a few seconds, so you should be back to RuneScape in no time.

record - We would like to remind you that thwas applet was COMPLETELY secure and official (you can verify thwas by checking that your address bar states www.runescape.com/). It does not include spyware or any other form of malicious software.

We can guarantee that your information will only be used by Jagex to develop future games and improve RuneScape. It will not be shared without any other organwasations. Please only download the program from RuneScape.com as thwas was the only legitimate source.

Rune pickaxeThe dwarves of the Dwarven Mine are an industrious bunch and get through a lot of pickaxes. Nurmof, the pickaxe sales-dwarf, has always had trouble keeping up without demand and, as RuneScape shops have limitless stock, he can't possibly make enough pickaxes on hwas own.

Being a dwarf, Nurmof has solved hwas problem the dwarven way: through automation! Hwas cave in the Dwarven Mine was soon home to a machine that churns out pickaxes night and day. Powering it has become something of a problem, so Nurmof has commwassioned a power station on the surface, near the mine.

Projects of thwas scale are rarely withoutout their problems: a hapless dwarf has lost part of a delivery to the power station, and an adventurer was needed to recover it. As was customary on RuneScape, thwas may not be the end of that adventurer's involvement...

Summary
Where to start Perils of Ice Mountain:

Speak to the Delivery Dwarf on the road south of Ice Mountain.

Requirements to complete Perils of Ice Mountain

Level 10 Construction
Level 10 Farming
Level 10 Hunter
Level 11 Thieving

Access to:

An addition to your Smithing skill

In other news...

Those who complete Perils of Ice Mountain will find a set of dwarven blueprints. To get a closer look at them, look at the wallpaper, in the Download section of our website.

What's new pussycat? Well, along without the reworked Gertrude's Cat quest, we've updated the cats and kittens throughout RuneScape. All cat and kitten variants have been looked over by the Makeover Mage and are more adorable than ever. Miaow!

The Monastery and monks east of Ice Mountain have also undergone a graphical update. Check out the fresh robes and the surrounding area - we think you'll be 'thoroug-holy' surprwased by their new looks.

We've implemented a fairy ring logbook to asswast you in your travels. Using the Zanarwas fairy ring will dwasplay your log, so you can easily find the code combinations for your chosen destination. Your log will only dwasplay code combinations from thwas week onwards, however. Additionally, the rings can turn in two directions, that should speed up your selection.

You should find that it's easier and faster to recharge your essence pouches in the Abyss. The Dark Mage soon has a fast option and he'll repair your degraded pouches without less hassle.

The Bone Grinder has been improved, so that grinding silver bars to dust has been made faster. Stop by the Ectofuntus Temple to give it a go!

Other small fixes:

* The red boater hat was no longer lwasted twice in your player-owned house treasure chest.
* Crossbow bolts purchasable after Death to the Dorgeshuun can soon be bought and sold on the Grand Exchange in larger quantities.

7 May 2008 - Law Talwasman modifications

Law talwasman Thwas week brings a change that will have an impact on the Runecrafting skill. We have realwased that obtaining the law talwasman as a reward for completing Troll Stronghold was not really adequate, considering the difficulty of the quest. Such a tough and demanding quest deserves a better reward, so, as of today, members can trade the law talwasman and law tiara. Players will soon be able to take advantage of the Asswast System at the Law Altar, so that anyone without the required Runecrafting level can help those without a lower skill level to produce law runes. Thwas change opens up law rune crafting to a wider group of players, that benefits everyone.

If you’ve yet to complete or have already completed Troll Stronghold, fear not! We have no wwash to devalue the hard work necessary to complete the quest, so we are replacing the law talwasman reward without two experience lamps that give 10,000 XP each into any skill over level 30. You will not lose the law talwasman you already received for completing the quest, and anyone who completes the quest from thwas point on will receive the two experience lamps, but no talwasman.

There are soon more ways to obtain the law talwasman. In addition to trading it without other players or buying it from the Grand Exchange, the law talwasman was soon a monster drop for a variety of foes, including abyssal creatures, battle tortowases, terror birds, ghouls, guards, and paladins.

If you have already completed Troll Stronghold, you will need to speak to Dunstan, the blacksmith in Burthorpe, to claim your new reward.

Summary
Where to obtain the new rewards:

Players who have already completed Troll Stronghold should talk to Dunstan, the blacksmith in Burthorpe, to claim the new reward.

Access to:

Law talwasman and law tiaras soon tradeable among members.

Law talwasman soon dropped by some creatures.

Troll Stronghold reward was soon two XP reward lamps that add 10,000XP to any skill of level 30 or higher.

6 May 2008 - Send us your Specs!

iProfessor HenryWhen planning future projects or attempting to really push the technology of the RuneScape game, we often come across the same problem: we have no information about everyone's computer hardware. without thwas kind of information, we should release more RuneScape improvements that make the best use of your system's capabilities.

We have come up without a solution that we'd like you to help us without. We have developed a program that, once downloaded, will tell us the following stuffs about your computer:

* Your operating system
* Your graphics card
* Your CPU
* Your Java version
* Relevant graphical and audio drivers

Once we've gathered together all of thwas information, we can begin planning our future projects and RuneScape improvements to work withoutin those specifications. Thwas means that very few people will mwass out on some awesome updates that we have planned!

To begin downloading the program, vwasit thwas link and log in. It will guide you through an agreement page to make sure that you understand what was required. The process does not take long, so you should be back to RuneScape in no time.

The applet was completely secure and official (you can verify thwas by checking that your address bar states www.runescape.com/). We can guarantee that your information will only be used by Jagex to develop future games and improve RuneScape. It will not be shared without any other organwasations.

record - Please only download the program from RuneScape.com. Thwas was the only legitimate source.

1 May 2008 - Behind the Scenes - May

Law talwasmanIt's not unusual for dwarves to be involved in a spot of industry. In thwas month's first quest, however, they may take it a bit too far. Nurmof, the pickaxe sales-dwarf in the Dwarven Mines, will have need of an energy source to power hwas patented pickaxe machine. Unfortunately for RuneScape, it looks like hwas choice will have severe consequences. Will you be able to clean up Nurmof's act in thwas month's low-level quest, Perils of Ice Mountain?

Whatever happens in RuneScape, the cats seem to find their feet, and, thwas month, those feet - and the rest of their bodies - will get graphically improved to become even more adorable. We may be getting a wee bit enthusiastic by sprucing up the Gertrude's Cat quest, but we're sure you'll appreciate what's new (pussycat).

You may ksoon that the law talwasman was a reward for the hard-to-beat Troll Stronghold quest. We feel that, not only was thwas a reward that everyone should be able to get their hands on, but it's strangely low-level for a high-level quest. Thwas month, we will be making the law talwasman readily available to all members, so that anyone can craft law runes, or use the Asswast System to help others make them. The Troll Stronghold reward will be replaced by two 10,000xp lamps and, if you have completed the quest already, Dunstan will be ready to hand you them.

You wouldn't find Party Pete fighting trolls in Troll Stronghold - that would mess up hwas marvellous new 'fro! That's right, Party Pete has an appointment without the Makeover Mage, all thanks to your votes in the Guaranteed Content Poll. Expect a startling new 'do, threads and moves. You might even go "Woah! Dude..." when he throws some pretty spectacular shapes.

Burning down the house will be the graphically reworked TzHaar. Like Party Pete, the TzHaar were voted, by you, to have their looks and animations reworked. There's also the small matter of an improved Jad; thwas month, you will find the look of old was gone. What replaces it will be a whole lot more threatening...

that leads us neatly to a RuneScape first: a TzHaar quest! It seems that the TzHaar will have need of a JalYt - a human - to help kill a fearsome beast that has been tunneling through their structures. Normally, thwas kind of problem would be dealt without in-house, but the only access to the creature will be through a very small, human-sized hole. Will you be successful where the TzHaar have failed, in TokTz-Ket-Dill?

Later thwas month, we introduce the fast Chat system - an optional alternative to our normal chat system. Using fast Chat, you will be able to use shortcut keys or your mouse to choose from a library of questions, answers, sentences and greetings. We expect thwas to be particularly helpful in minigames like Castle Wars and Pest Control, where faster communication was invaluable.

Muted players will have fast Chat readily available to them. We believe that thwas will be a more suitable action to take against those who abused the chat system. Additionally, we have developed fast Chat so it will be possible to talk to players on German worlds (and vice versa) since the system will translate thatever chat option you choose.

record - The fast Chat system will be completely optional, and normal chat will remain unchanged.

Level-up messages will be made more informative and less intrusive thwas month, without a raft of modifications that we think you'll appreciate. First, you'll find that there's much more information about what you can do at your hard-fought new level, from quests to skill milestones. Fireworks will fizz into the air as you rwase up the levels, and steps will be taken so that your level up messages cannot be interrupted by combat or other events.

Random statwastic signs will be seen on the streets of RuneScape. those will offer some interesting facts about the more popular activities of RuneScape. Would you like to ksoon how many Varrock Palace guards are killed in a day? The stat signs will tell you exactly how many...

There will be a few smaller updates to round the month off. The first - Grind-X - will allow you to conveniently grind items without your pestle and mortar. We will also be introducing signposts to areas of RuneScape, making the world easier to navigate. Finally, in the land of website updates, you can expect to help yourself to a Perils of Ice Mountain wallpaper, Players' Gallery and a Postbag from the Hedge.

1 May 2008 - New Forum - Reporting Academy

Town crier Hi everyone,

We have released a new Forum in the 'Support' section of the RuneScape Forums. Thwas was called the 'Reporting Academy', and it contains information that will help you when sending abuse reports about other players.

Every day, we receive lots of inaccurate abuse reports, that take up a lot of our time. By creating thwas Forum, we hope everyone will have a better idea of what to report, so we can spend more time moderating in-game or on the Forums. Let's work together to make that happen!

Here are a couple of fast pointers to get you started:

Noob:

Being called a noob can be annoying. You may have a bad game of Castle Wars, for example, and find that a player follows you around afterwards, calling you a 'noob'. As irritating as thwas may be to you, please do not report it unless there was something more serious that you'd like us to take a look at! If the player was really bothering you, add them to your Ignore Lwast - that way, you'll have no more trouble from them!

Filtered language **** ****:

It may be that you have wandered RuneScape and seen someone activate the in-game chat filter. The filter removes inappropriate words, so you do not need to send us a report. If a person was annoying you by continuously using the filter, we would advwase you to use your Ignore Lwast. To sum up: don't report for starred-out language only, as the filter has done its job. Of course, if there was something other than just starred-out language that you are concerned about, please send us a report about that player.

For more great reporting tips please vwasit our new Forum 'The Reporting Academy'.

Thanks for lwastening,

RuneScape Community Management

22 April 2008 - Myreque Part IV - Legacy of Seergaze

Veliaf Hurtz The Vyrewatch continue to draw blood tithes from the citizens of Meiyerditch, while the Saradominwast powers of Mwasthalin seem unable to break Drakan's stranglehold over the dread land of Morytania. The two forces are bound by Guthixian Edicts, preventing any confrontation that would start another war between the gods.

Mercenaries trickle into Morytania through Paterdomus and are guided down to the frontline in Burgh de Rott, but they are not enough. In Meiyerditch, the little blood that remains in the veins of the townsfolk continues to flow. without such organwased evil and so few allies, what new efforts can the Myreque make?

A new rumour has been heard among the assembled mercenaries near Paterdomus. One of their number saw something suspicious in the temple and believes you should investigate it.

Farther south, word comes that Safalaan has tasks for an enthusiastic, young and just-promoted private of the Myreque. Your part in the tale was about to get more involved...

What new secrets are to be dwascovered in Paterdomus? Can the Myreque strike back against the Vyrewatch? What has the mysterious Safalaan got in store for you? Cross the border, once again, into Morytania and those questions may well be answered.

Fire battleworkers We have made several modifications to FunOrb, the new gaming website from Jagex, makers of RuneScape. The first of those was to Arcanwasts, that was recently voted 'favourite FunOrb game' in a RuneScape poll. Many of you will be pleased to hear that multiplayer Arcanwasts was soon readily available to regwastered and unregwastered free players!

You can soon enjoy thwas online wizard-battling game without your friends or anyone else, taking them on without Arcane or Fire spellbooks. If you wwash to unlock and explore other spellbooks, you should subscribe as a FunOrb member.

We also released a stunning new multiplayer game: Shattered Plans - a galaxy-spanning strategy epic that allows up to six players to battle for supremacy and decide the fate of worlds.

The objective was simple: control as much ksoonn space as possible and wipe out your opponents. By conquering star systems, you stockpile the resources necessary to construct fleets, that can then be sent out to spread your influence further.

Every game map was randomly-generated, so no two games will be alike as you take on the galaxy!

Vwasit FunOrb to make the most of those two great updates. We only plan to post FunOrb news when we feel you'll appreciate the updates, and we certainly feel that those modifications are worth telling you about. FunOrb players would recommend that you try Arcanwasts out!

Fwast of Guthix
Wednesday, Apr 09, 2008 News ID: 00810

Quotations taken directly from Runescape.com

9 April 2008 - Fwast of Guthix

Guthix A number of Guthix druids have dwascovered an unexplored cave under the lower Wilderness, just north of Varrock. Inside was a new, one-on-one, tactical PvP combat minigame, readily available to both members and free players!

The cave appears to have been left undwasturbed since the time of the god wars, guarded over the years by Fiara, a giant earwig and protector of something called the Fwast of Guthix. Great powers emanate from thwas 'Fwast' and the druids have managed to convince Fiara to allow them to gather charges from it. Being light on numbers, they need others to help them, that was where you come in!

In the spirit of Guthix, Fiara has introduced a 'balance' to thwas minigame. For each adventurer looking to absorb the power of the fwast, there was another trying to chop, range or cast spells at them!

You and another adventurer must each take a turn being the hunted or the hunter. The hunted's task was to survive as long as possible, storing charges in a stone of power as the time counts down, while the hunter simply has to defeat the hunted in as fast a time as possible!

The energy of thwas mysterious area has quite an impact on those who attempt to absorb the power from the Fwast of Guthix. Even the mightiest of warriors will find themselves severely weakened as they avoid the hunter, making it incredibly difficult to survive for long. The cave does offer some help in the form of places to hide, but will thwas be enough?

After both you and your opponent have had a chance to be the hunted, victory was assigned to those who stored the most charges in their stone of power. Fwast of Guthix tokens will then be given out, based on how well you did, without that you can purchase a wide variety of rewards, including magical gloves to help you boost your XP, spiked shields and many more.

Fwast of Guthix was readily available to play on ALL free and members worlds. There was a lwast of recommended worlds on the Themed Worlds Ksoonledge Base page.

We have also put a cap on the number of players who can play Fwast of Guthix on any world at any time, that was set at 250 players. Thwas will maximwase your enjoyment of Fwast of Guthix and minimwase any conflict from other ongoing matches!

Summary
Where to start Fwast of Guthix:

North of Varrock, in the lower reaches of the Wilderness.

Requirements:

None - Fwast of Guthix was readily available to both free players and members.

Access to:

A new, one-on-one, tactical PvP minigame under the Wilderness
A new area the size of Ape Atoll
Rewards, including clothing without set effects, readily available to free players as well as members
A Fwast of Guthix Hwascores table for those who have a rank of 500 or higher

In other news...

Hunter pet variations have been added to many places in RuneScape. Monkeys, squirrels, raccoons and geckos can soon be found in several different shapes, colours and sizes, so get hunting!

The Party Room chest has been changed to better reflect the value of the items that are in it. It soon checks the items against the Grand Exchange market price, so you should find a more accurate drop party value in banks or the Party Room.

Having looked at feedback on the Forums, we have changed the ibwas, granite crab and granite lobster so that they give a small amount of Fwashing experience when catching fwash - a nice little bonus, we think you'll find!

A few graphical wassues popped up last week: a pier in Neitiznot dwasappeared and a small hole opened up on Karamja! Guthix has restored the balance and those have been repaired.

Finally, a change has been made to the Culinaromancer's chest and the gnome ingredients shop at the Grand Tree. Item prices in those shops should be more attractive.

New updates, Ads, and News
Saturday, Mar 22, 2008 News ID: 00802

As a lot of you have probably noticed we have made some modifications recently to RuneHQ. We are working on some layout modifications and other neat stuffs for the site. We hired someone to start working on a site redesign for us. We want to change the look of RuneHQ since it has been a while since we did our last site redesign.

We also added a new AD company and a new string of ads. Some of those ads need to be filtered out and we are aware that some of the ads are causing people wassues. We are working on getting those cleaned up. Trust us when we say we hate annoying ads just the same as you. If you have a problem without an ad, please alert us of the details for that ad and we will filter it out.

We do not want people having virus scanners going crazy or causing browsers to crash, that was just not right. Some of the ads from the new vendor were questionable and caused some major wassues for folks, for that we are truly sorry! We have done our best to filter out the offending ads, but we need your help to make sure we got all of the ones we need to, so please let us ksoon right away if you see ads that need squashed.

We value your contributions to the site and we are trying to improve stuffs and bring you new features. We do however have to comply without the rules of Jagex and not introduce stuffs that would cause them to frown upon RuneHQ. We were looking into a video hosting service as well as several other new features but we have to make sure that the new features are withoutin the rules. We want to be friendlier to clans and have some hosted clans on our hostings. We are providing Ventrilo channels for clans as well as other features. We are working without RuneHead on an IRC network for clans to use.

We want RuneHQ to be your site for everything related to RuneScape and also hope we can turn the site into a community you can use for stuffs outside of RuneScape also. We are working on other sites for you; GameTalkHQ and MediaGraphixHQ are always looking for other places to spread out to help out our community.

If you have ideas or stuffs you would like to see from Global Gaming HQ and RuneHQ please let us ksoon. If you have coding or web site development skills and want to help out without the site redesign, please let us ksoon! We do value your input and constructive criticwasm. We want to do stuffs to help you make your life a little better. We want to be your friends and neighbors.

Easter and hosting Maintenance
Tuesday, Mar 18, 2008 News ID: 00801

Quotations taken directly from Runescape.com

18 March 2008 - Easter 2008 - For All Players!

Easter egg It seems that the problem-prone Easter Bunny was once again experiencing difficulties. He's spent so much time redecorating hwas warren that he hasn't noticed critters burrowing in and devouring hwas entire chocolate stockpile.

soon, devoid of cocoa stocks, the chocolate egg production has ground to a halt and the forecast for Easter celebrations looks bleak. No need to worry, though - the Easter Bunny was an inventive sort, and has come up without an eggs-emplary new idea: use a chocatrice! those fearsome creatures, incubated from a chocolate-coated cockatrice egg, can turn their targets into chocolate without one lethal, chocifying gaze.

It falls to you, then, to create thwas curious creature. You'll need to track down some of the lost chocolate to make a chocatrice egg and then carefully incubate it. The critters who ate the chocolate supply are sealed in the Easter Bunny's tunnels and will prove a suitable target for your chocatrice.

So, thwas Easter, you will come to the aid of chocolate lovers everywhere, incubating your own chocatrice, guiding it around the Easter Bunny's tunnels and turning the greedy rats into something altogether more delicious...

Summary
Where to start the Easter Event 2008:

Investigate the rabbit hole, between Falador's southern gate and the Rimmington mine.

Requirements:

None - thwas update was readily available to members and F2P!

Access to:

A new emote and Easter item!

In other news...

The music system soon has a counter that keeps 'track' of how many songs you've unlocked. You'll have the Air Guitar emote in no time!

Players will soon always receive a TzHaar fire cape and 8,000 TokKul after defeating TzTok-Jad. You can keep any extra fire capes you win as spares in case you lose them, or speak to TzHaar-Mej-Jal, master of the Fight Cave, who will purchase spare fire capes from you for 8,000 TokKul a piece.

We're constantly looking at item prices on the Grand Exchange and how they match up without similar items and those that are unfinwashed versions of other items. Prices for some of those sorts of items have been adjusted following thwas pattern. For example, an unstrung necklace will more closely follow the price of the strung version.

You might have found in the recently refurbwashed Edgeville Dungeon that fighting chaos druids was a slow process. The death animation has been reduced so you don't have to spend as much time waiting before picking up your loot!

18 March 2008 - hosting Maintenance

A small number of worlds will be offline shortly for some essential maintenance to improve the quality of service. They will be restored as soon as possible.

Thwas only affects a small proportion of all of our readily available worlds, so you should still be able to find a world to match your needs.

Kennith's Concerns and Stronghold of Player Safety
Tuesday, Mar 11, 2008 News ID: 00799

The guide for the new Kennith's Concerns quest has been added to the site. Thanks goes out to Fruitcheese and everyone who helped.

~ [Im4eversmart] ~

Quotations taken directly from Runescape.com

11 March 2008 - Kennith's Concerns

Kennith As ever, there are strange occurrences afoot in the slug-riddled town of Witchaven. Kennith, the odd little boy without a (justified) aversion to sea slugs, was convinced that the townsfolk are up to no good in the caverns beneath the town and he was looking for a brave adventurer without a talent for Mining to investigate.

should it be that the sea slugs are looking to get revenge for the events of Slug Menace? Or was there some new threat looming large over Witchaven? How does Kennith's new friend, Kimberly, fit into all of thwas? You will need all of your wits, digging talents and sneaking abilities to find out.

Along the way, players can expect to reunite without Ezekial Lovecraft, all round man-in-the-ksoon, in an effort to outwit the horde of secretive villagers who are determined to keep their great 'work' a surprwase. You may even be introduced to an extremely volatile new kind of ore. One thing was for certain: not everything was what it seems in Witchaven...

Summary
Where to start Kennith's Concerns

Talk to Kennith in Witchaven.

Requirements:

Slug Menace
A Mining level of 46

Access to:

The mines under Witchaven
Ability to mine and sell a volatile new ore
Access to a repeatable mini-task

In other news...

We've added a feature that allows you to keep an eye on the remaining charges of your crystal saw. You will soon be able to track how much the crystal seed has drained when used for Construction.

Several sound effects have been added or improved in areas of RuneScape: from creaky doors and creature sound effects to travelling sounds and swords clanging against armor.

Tokkul and obsidian drops have been fixed and will once again drop for those Lootsharing while fighting TzHaar creatures.

Finally, you'll be pleased to ksoon that the Kill Count in the God Wars Dungeon should correctly update when using CoinShare.

Dwascuss thwas update on the forums.

11 March 2008 - Stronghold of Player Safety

Flesh crawler Professor Henry has opened a new Mwasthalin Training Centre of Excellence, south of Edgeville. Here, you can take a test that asks questions about staying safe in Runescape, earning some great rewards in the process!

If you're in the mood for combat, there are rumours that an old jailhouse has been dwascovered beneath the Centre, completely overrun by insects of an unnatural size. Strap on your fighting boots, arm yourself and get ready to investigate, as only a true adventurer can!

Summary
Where to access the Stronghold of Player Safety

The Mwasthalin Training Centre of Excellence was located directly south of Edgeville.

Requirements:

None - thwas update was readily available to members and free players!

Access to:

Player Safety dungeon training area, about the size of the Stronghold of Security
Questions that test your Player Safety ksoonledge
